Dear debating teachers and coaches,

We would like to invite you and your teams to this year's season and Junior League 2017/18. Please excuse the delay which was a result of attempts to coordinate different events in the debating calendar.

The Junior League National Finals (the top 6 teams after 6 rounds will be qualified) will take place from

Friday-Sunday, June 15th - 17th, 2018


Registration will open this week and we will send another short reminder out to you as soon as the link is up on the website. Registration ends on 31st October.

Since this will be my last year as co-organiser of Junior League, I am hoping to encourage someone from our debating teachers to support Ann-Sophie and Konstantin next year. Please do contact me if you feel motivated to be a part of

After the conclusion of the preliminary Rounds 1-6 at the beginning of April 2017, Königin-Olga-Stift Stuttgart has emerged as this year's first breaking team! CONGRATULATIONS!

All teams ranked 1-7 will meet the Hamburg JL team during the JL Finals Tournament from 19th-21st MAY in Würzburg. Good luck to everyone!

Max-Born-Gymnasium Backnang wins SL South 2014/15!

In a high-level debate on the motion 'TH prefers lower taxes to extensive public services', speakers Laura Alviz, Konstantin Krüger and Venya Blankenagel take the final debate of this season as Proposition against the International School of Frankfurt on a 5-0 unanimous decision. Congratulations!

Carina Graf and Nicola Esser, both from the Heidehof-Gymnasium in Stuttgart, have won the first regional rounds ever to take place in Germany, in order to compete as the only qualified team from Germany at the Oxford Schools Debating Competition in Oxford, UK. Runners-up and possible contestants are Venya Blankenagel from the Max-Born-Gymnasium Backnang and Yvonne Kloiber from the Friedrich-Abel-Gymnasium in Vaihingen/Enz (confirmation for a second competing team from the Oxford Union is pending).

International School Frankfurt wins Junior League 2012/13

 

In an amazing Grand final, the Junior League debating team from the International School Frankfurt, participating for the first time ever, has won the competition by a split decision 6:1 on the motion "THBT same-sex couples should be allowed to adopt children" over the team from Königin-Olga-Stift Stuttgart on 28th April. Congratulations! The Grand Final completed this year's JL finals' tournament at the Würzburg Youth Hostel, during which six teams from the Stuttgart area, Frankfurt and Berlin have met to debate against each other in five rounds. The best two teams then met again in one final debate. Congratulations also go to this year's runner-up team from Königin-Olga-Stift Stuttgart.

Croatian debate society  ( http://www.hdd.hr/index.php?_lang=en ) is proud to invite you to participate in the Summer debate school and International debate tournament that will be held in the beautiful coastal city of Selce, Croatia.

Summer debate school & tournament: 27.08. – 03.09.2011

Both events are open for all students aged 14 – 19 and the official language is English.

Summer debate school (SDS):

SDS 2011 consists of two tracks. First (morning) consists of workshops revolving around prepared motions for the following tournament.
